Committed to Maintaining Quality Healthcare NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION The Wamego Hospital Foundation is a non-profit organization and all donations are tax-exempt per 501(c)(3) of the federal tax laws. The Wamego Hospital Foundation is governed by a board of directors made up of community members from the area served by Wamego City Hospital i.e. Wamego, Westmoreland, Alma, Belvue, St. George. Foundation board meetings are held on the third Thursday during the months of January, March, May, July, September, and November from 11:30 - 1:30 at the Foundation office, 529 LINCOLN. MISSION "The Mission of the Wamego Hospital Foundation is to support Wamego City Hospital in achieving excellence in medical services. As a non-profit organization, the Foundation provides the ability to solicit and accept gifts from individuals and organizations to ensure quality healthcare to those we serve." Diamonds & Denim The Foundation's annual fundraiser Diamonds & Denim is underwritten by medical professionals and businesses in Wamego, Westmoreland, Manhattan, and Topeka. Proceeds come from ticket sales, a silent and live auction, and donations. Community members provide entertainment by participating in the Talent Showcase and the evening concludes with the drawing for a diamond bracelet donated by a local jeweler. Remember Me Angel Tree During the months of November and December a Christmas tree is decorated with angels adopted by community members. Angels are adopted through a donation and placed on the tree either in memory of or in honor of someone. Golf Tournament The Foundation co-hosts the Wamego Hospital Auxiliary's Benefit Golf Tournament. Tournament proceeds go to meet the Auxiliary's $50,000.00 patient room pledge obligation and to purchase hospital equipment. Proceeds from all fundraisers held by the Wamego Hospital Foundation go to benefit quality healthcare and Wamego City Hospital. Community participation in fundraisers is vital.
